November 29, 2025 – The offline finals of the 7th Guangdong University Student Copyright Knowledge Speech Competition concluded at the South China Copyright Service Hall. Three students from the Law School / Intellectual Property School of Jinan University delivered exceptional performances, securing multiple awards including the Grand Prize, Third Prize, and Excellence Award. The university was also honored with the “Outstanding Organization Award.”
Hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Copyright Bureau and organized by the Guangdong Provincial Copyright Protection Federation, this year’s competition carried the theme “Copyright Escorts Innovation, AI Ignites the Future.” It attracted 301 participants from over 40 universities across the province, Hong Kong, and Macao. After preliminary rounds, 40 contestants from 22 institutions advanced to the finals. During the competition, participants delivered speeches addressing topics such as AI technology and copyright protection, incorporating case studies and current issues into their presentations.
Among the awardees from Jinan University, Yu Lijing, a 2023 intellectual property major, earned the Grand Prize with the highest score of the competition. Ma Yingzi, a 2025 intellectual property major, won the Third Prize, and An Shuyi, a 2024 intellectual property major, received the Excellence Award. Their achievements showcased strong professional knowledge and a positive competitive spirit.

The competition aims to promote copyright awareness and foster a culture of innovation. This year saw both an expansion in scale and an increase in the level of competition. The outstanding results attained by Jinan University students highlight the institution’s strengths in intellectual property education and practical training.
