On October 29, the Zhuhai Campus of Jinan University held a Double Ninth Festival symposium. The event served as a warm tribute to educators and a celebration of the enduring values of respecting teachers and honoring elders.
Campus Party Committee Secretary and Trade Union Chairman Lu Jianmin, Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary Zhu Yunli, International Business School Dean Wu Jing, School of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering Party Branch Secretary Zhou Yuyu, along with alumni representatives including Zhuhai Media Group Deputy General Manager Pan Huaming and Zhuhai Campus Alumni Association Executive Director Zhong Guohui, joined retired faculty, representatives of teachers with 30 years of service, and new faculty members for the gathering.
In his address, Lu Jianmin extended festive greetings and high respect to all retired teachers, thanking them for dedicating their prime years to the university. He also expressed sincere gratitude to alumni for their longstanding care and support and encouraged new faculty to take up the mantle, urging them to strive for progress alongside Jinan University through both inheritance and innovation.

Alumni representative Zhong Guohui fondly recalled his student years at his alma mater. He emphasized that alumni remain closely connected to the university no matter where they are and pledged continued support for its development.
A special recognition ceremony was held during the symposium to honor faculty and staff who have served the university for 30 years. Retired former leaders Zheng Wenfang and Su Baohe presented commemorative trophies to Lu Jianmin, Wu Jing, Zhou Yuyu, Yang Huixu, and Chen Rongzhao.
Yang Huixu, a faculty representative from the School of Humanities with 30 years of service, shared insights into the university's transformation over three decades and affirmed his commitment to JNU's continued journey forward. Retired teacher representative Wang Xiangping reflected on the campus's historical landscapes and offered wishes for its new achievements. New faculty representative Liang Chaoqian spoke of her sense of belonging and mission since joining JNU, vowing to learn from senior colleagues and devote her enthusiasm to teaching and research.

That same day, Lu Jianmin visited two former campus leaders. He updated them on recent developments and achievements of the campus, inquired warmly about their health and well-being, and thanked them for laying a solid foundation for the campus's growth. He also conveyed sincere Double Ninth Festival wishes, bringing them autumnal warmth and care.
In the morning, the campus also organized a "Cultural Exchange on Foot" activity. Retired and new faculty members embarked on a hike along the Fenghuangshan section of the ancient Nanyue Post Road, exploring their way to Huitong Ancient Village. Bathed in the autumn sunshine, the participants walked on bluestone paths amidst mountain breezes and ancient charm, tracing Zhuhai's historical and cultural veins through their steps. The walk facilitated informal exchanges of teaching experiences and campus memories, bridging generational gaps in a relaxed setting amidst nature and local culture, allowing the seeds of mentorship to take root.

The event fostered a warm and harmonious atmosphere where senior faculty reminisced, new colleagues looked ahead, and alumni strengthened bonds. It added profound warmth to the Double Ninth Festival and further enriched the traditions of honoring teachers and respecting elders.
