On November 22, 2025, Jinan University convened an enrollment symposium with education representatives from Hong Kong and Macao. The event brought together Yang Peixin, Vice Chairman of the Macao Chinese Education Association, along with principals and teacher representatives from more than 20 secondary schools across the two regions.
University Vice President Zhang Xiaoxin attended the meeting, joined by heads of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, the External Liaison Office, the Hong Kong Office, and the Macao Liaison Office.
In his address, Vice President Zhang Xiaoxin extended his appreciation to the Hong Kong and Macao education communities for their longstanding support. He highlighted the University’s distinctive educational features and its achievements in nurturing students from Hong Kong and Macao. Zhang reaffirmed Jinan University’s commitment to leveraging its unique strengths to provide outstanding young students from the two regions with quality higher education opportunities and to cultivate talents who can contribute to local socioeconomic development.
Yang Peixin and Chen Junwei, Vice Principal of Kowloon True Light Middle School in Hong Kong, delivered remarks on behalf of their respective regions. Participants engaged in constructive discussions on topics such as optimizing admission procedures, enhancing students’ understanding of academic programs, and improving curriculum alignment between secondary schools and the University.
Following the symposium, the guests visited the Jinan University History Museum for an in-depth look at the University’s century-old legacy. They also traveled to Foshan for a cultural study tour of the Lingnan region and visited alumni-owned enterprises, gaining firsthand insight into the dynamic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
