The second meeting of the inaugural Academic Committee for the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Nanophotonic Manipulation was held at Jinan University's Panyu Campus on November 27, 2025.

President of Jinan University, Academician Xing Feng, attended and addressed the meeting. In his speech, he highlighted optical engineering as a key discipline in Guangdong's high-level university development plan. He expressed his hope that the Academic Committee members would provide continued guidance and support to foster the laboratory's growth into a leading innovation platform in nanophotonics for the Greater Bay Area.

The meeting was attended by the committee's Director, Academician Gu Min (Shanghai University of Technology); Deputy Directors Academician Gu Ying (Chinese PLA General Hospital) and Academician Li Shutao (President of Chang'an University); alongside committee members Professor Lv Chao (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), Professor Shen Ping (Southern University of Science and Technology), and Professor Wang Zhanshan (Tongji University).

Professor Li Baojun, Director of the Laboratory, presented a comprehensive report covering the lab's development strategy, research focus areas, talent development, and international collaborations. Detailed research progress reports were subsequently delivered by Professors Xin Hongbao, Lou Zaizhu, Bao Yanjun, and Wen Long.

The Academic Committee members spoke positively of the laboratory's accomplishments since its establishment and engaged in in-depth discussions regarding its future trajectory, offering constructive suggestions for its continued development.
