Jinan University achieved outstanding results at the 18th National College Student Innovation Annual Conference, held from November 21 to 23, 2025, at Nanjing University's Suzhou campus. The university secured a total of three awards, ranking third in overall award count among Chinese universities and first among institutions in Guangdong Province. This marks the 13th consecutive year since 2013 that Jinan University has been honored at this annual event.

Under the theme "Endless Innovation, Boundless Trend," this year’s conference featured 510 selected projects from nearly 300 universities across the country. These projects were shortlisted from 1,030 national-level innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives recommended by higher education institutions and provincial education authorities.

Six entries from Jinan University advanced to the final stage of the conference. Among them, the project "Energy Storage Guardian—New Safety Warning Technology and System for Energy Storage," led by Xie Jiabao from the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, received dual honors: the "Best Creative Project" award and the "My Favorite Project" award. Another project, "All-Media International Communication Initiative: Truth Seeker Studio," led by Li Fuying from the School of Journalism and Communication, was also awarded "My Favorite Project" recognition.

The National College Student Innovation Annual Conference is a key annual exhibition and exchange platform launched by the Ministry of Education and organized by the expert working group of the National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program. Since its inception in 2008, it has become one of the most extensive and influential events of its kind for undergraduate students in China and is included in the National College Student Discipline Competition Rankings.
