On the afternoon of July 15, a delegation led by Cai Guoxiong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the Foshan Citiy's Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (FROC), visited Jinan University for a working meeting to discuss collaboration in overseas Chinese affairs. Liang Yan, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department, welcomed the delegation. The two sides exchanged views on areas including resource sharing, talent development, and overseas engagement.

During the symposium, Liang Yan outlined Jinan University's educational characteristics, efforts in united front work, and the development of its overseas Chinese federation and alumni association. She highlighted the University's role as the premier institution for overseas Chinese and its commitment to the local FROC + university FROC + alumni association tripartite collaboration model, aimed at serving overseas Chinese communities and integrating resources. She expressed hope for deeper cooperation in cultural exchange and talent training to leverage mutual strengths.

Cai Guoxiong provided an overview of the Foshan Federation's recent work and introduced Foshan's socioeconomic development, industrial features, and resource advantages. He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the city and the university and proposed expanded collaboration in areas such as overseas exchanges, alumni engagement, and talent attraction to foster innovative approaches in overseas Chinese affairs.

The two sides also discussed innovative practices in overseas Chinese affairs, effective utilization of resources, and enhanced services for overseas Chinese professionals. Attendees agreed to strengthen cooperation in cultural initiatives, platform development, and education and training for overseas Chinese communities, with the goal of improving service quality and injecting new energy into related endeavors.

The meeting was also attended by Ye Minjian, Vice Chairman of the Foshan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Li Jing, Fourth-Level Researcher; Cao Jianyu, Executive President of the Jinan University Foshan Alumni Association; Ye Zhihai, Executive Vice Chairman of the Jinan University Overseas Chinese Federation and Deputy Dean of the Cultural Heritage and Creative Industry Research Institute; and Peng Meilei, Deputy Director of the University's External Liaison Office.
