Overview

•Jinan University, in collaboration with the Guangdong Federation of Social Sciences and the Chaozhou Culture Research Institute, has launched the selection process for two Chaozhou Studies honors: the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Excellent Achievement Award. The awards aim to preserve and promote Chaozhou culture, encourage innovative Chinese cultural development, recognize distinguished scholars, and inspire future generations. The first awards cycle concluded in 2023.

Award details

•Lifetime Achievement Award (Chaozhou Studies) 

 Purpose: Honor senior scholars with significant, influential contributions to Chaozhou studies.

 Prizes: 2 winners, each receiving 100,000 yuan.

•Excellent Achievement Award (Chaozhou Studies) 

 Eligibility: Experts and scholars with notable innovation, high academic value, and broad social impact.

 Prizes: Three first prizes at 30,000 yuan each; five second prizes at 10,000 yuan each. Final numbers depend on selections.

Application and nomination

•Lifetime Achievement Award: Nomination and recommendation only; applicants cannot self-nominate. Each candidate must be endorsed by at least three renowned experts.

•Excellent Achievement Award: Open to individual applications; organizations cannot submit recommendations. Collective works are counted as a single author.

Submission requirements and deadlines

•Reference book for Excellent Achievement Award: Publicized July 2020 to July 2025. Applications are for individuals only.

•Materials deadline: September 30, 2025.

•Postal submissions: Include two hard copies of the annotated manuscript for the Excellent Award; one PDF/application form and one electronic manuscript for both awards.
