A high-level delegation from Bijie Citiy’s traditional Chinese medicine sector visited Jinan University on August 19 to explore new pathways for advancing Bijie’s TCM industry. Led by Wang Hai, full-time deputy director of Guizhou Zhonghua Vocational Education Society, the group included officials from Bijie Science and Technology Bureau and Bijie Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Jinan University Vice President Zhang Xiaoxin hosted the delegation, with discussions centering on joint research, talent cultivation, and the development of Bijie’s TCM resources.

In welcoming remarks, Zhang Xiaoxin reviewed the university’s collaboration history with Guizhou Province and Bijie City, reaffirming Jinan University’s commitment to implementing the Central United Front Work Department’s group-assistance plan. He emphasized leveraging the university’s talent pool, technology platforms, and interdisciplinary strengths to advance local cooperation projects and strengthen industry-university-research ties.
Wang Hai thanked the university for its hospitality and highlighted Bijie’s rich TCM resources alongside challenges in elevating product technology and operational efficiency. He outlined the visit’s aim: to deepen institutional cooperation, pilot exemplary projects, and drive mutual benefits. He expressed confidence that Jinan University’s top-tier research environment and expert network could propel Bijie’s high-quality TCM development and unlock new growth avenues.
The symposium featured in-depth discussions on talent development, joint research collaborations, Bijie’s TCM resource development, cross-disciplinary cooperation, and industry-university projects. Participants agreed that the exchange opened new ideas and injected momentum for future cooperation. The two sides outlined plans to combine Guizhou’s traditional medicine resources with Jinan University’s academic strengths, pursuing joint efforts in technology R&D, talent cultivation, and cultural heritage preservation. The overarching goal is to enhance the quality and efficiency of Bijie’s TCM industry, support local economic and social development, and write a new chapter for Bijie’s traditional Chinese medicine sector.
