The event also welcomed Zheng Xiaofei, Dean of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University; Zhang Xiaoshen, Dean of the School of Nursing and Vice Dean of the hospital; Yin Haiyan, Vice Dean; and Chen Shaohua, Chief Accountant. Additionally, leadership members from the Yangxi County Medical Reform Leadership Group, local health officials, and clinical experts from the hospital were present, with the ceremony hosted by Lu Weiqing, Deputy County Mayor of Yangxi County.
In February 2025, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University signed a cooperation agreement with the Yangxi County Government to manage three hospitals under the Yangxi County General Hospital, officially renaming them to “Jinan University Affiliated First Hospital Yuexi Hospital.” This collaboration represents a strategic step in the implementation of Guangdong Province’s Millions of High-quality Development Projects and the 1310 initiative, aimed at balancing medical resources in western Guangdong. By integrating resources and innovating models, the initiative seeks to help Yangxi County evolve from a pilot county to a demonstration county in medical excellence.
As part of this initiative, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University has dispatched a team of 10 management and clinical experts to Yangxi, focusing on a three transfer strategy—management transfer, technology transfer, and talent transfer. The first batch of experts, comprising leaders in key fields such as orthopedics, ophthalmology, oncology, dentistry, and obstetrics and gynecology, will collaborate with local medical professionals to forge a sustainable development path. This new approach emphasizes both blood transfusion—providing immediate medical support—and hematopoiesis—developing local medical capabilities. Together, they aim to enhance service quality, optimize patient experience, and improve overall system efficiency, setting a new standard for medical services in the region.
