On March 16th, the Guangdong Provincial University Value Engineering Research Association convened its General Assembly alongside the AI Era Value Innovation Seminar at Jinan University Zhuhai Campus. The event attracted over 60 participants from various universities across Guangdong Province.

Lu Jianmin, Secretary of the Campus Party Committee, commended the research association for its significant contributions to advancing value engineering research and its applications. He affirmed that Jinan University Zhuhai Campus is committed to supporting the association’s ongoing development and initiatives.

Professor Tang Yongli, Director of the Industrial Technology Economics and Management Research Center at Jinan University, presented the council's work and financial reports from the previous term, which were reviewed and approved by attendees.

During the assembly, the Election Method for the Guangdong Provincial University Value Engineering Research Association was ratified, paving the way for new leadership elections. Following established procedures, representatives voted for key positions within the association. Professor Qu Ting, Executive Director of the Management Committee of Jinan University Zhuhai Campus and Dean of the Zhuhai Research Institute, was elected as the legal representative and president. Other elected officials included:

• Executive Vice President: Professor Tang Yongli

• Vice Presidents: 

  Professor Zhang Shujun (Sun Yat-sen University)

  Professor Shi Chuanlin (South China Agricultural University)

  Professor Wu Jiejie (Guangdong University of Technology)

  Professor Liu Jingkuang (Guangzhou University)

  Professor Yan Xiaohui (Dongguan University of Technology)

• Secretary General: Lv Qingwen, Director of the Party and Government Office, Jinan University Zhuhai Campus

• Chairman of the Supervisory Board: Liu Min, Secretary of the School of Management at Zhuhai City Vocational and Technical College

Additionally, Professor Hu Jun, the former president, was appointed honorary president of the research association, and Professors Wang Guoqing and Zuo Xiaode were named honorary executive presidents.

In his closing remarks, Professor Qu Ting expressed deep gratitude to attendees and outlined the research association's innovative direction for value engineering in the AI era. He also provided updates on the developments at Jinan University Zhuhai Campus and the progress of the construction of the science and technology park. Qu voiced optimism for collaborative efforts under the new leadership to advance value engineering in Guangdong’s higher education landscape.

During the seminar segment, presentations were delivered by esteemed speakers, including:

• Professor Wang Guoqing: Value Engineering and Value Innovation”

• Director Yu Xing (Gree Electric Appliances): “Dual Value Driven Quality and Efficiency Improvement Practices for Products and Manufacturing”

The seminar was chaired by Professor Qu Ting, emphasizing the importance of integrating AI with value engineering practices.

Following the meetings, attendees participated in a tour of the Jinan University Science and Technology Park (Zhuhai), further fostering collaboration and innovation among the members of the research association.
