On December 15, 2024, the Overseas Chinese Cultural Research Base for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Students, along with the Chinese Business Culture Exhibition and Exchange Base, was unveiled at the Lingnan Folk Culture and Art New Space in Heshan, Jiangmen. This initiative is part of a major project funded by the National Social Science Fund, focusing on Research on Global Chinese Business Asset Estimation and High Quality Integration into the New Development Pattern.
Ceremony Highlights
The unveiling ceremony included a visit from the Loyalty, Trustworthiness, and Respect Business Elite Class and the seventh batch of students from the I-Dream Business Elite Class. They engaged in cultural research activities, exploring the rich traditions of Lingnan culture, which emphasizes the integration of diverse cultural elements.

Key Features of the New Space
The Lingnan Folk Culture and Art New Space, spearheaded by Professor Chen Haiquan from the Department of Marketing, encompasses:
- Lingnan Folk Culture and Life Museum
- Lingnan Famous Artists and Celebrities Art Museum
- Wang Xingshu Cinnabar Painting and Calligraphy Art Museum
This space aims to blend traditional and modern artistic expressions, fostering a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture while aligning it with contemporary business practices. Professor Chen highlighted the importance of storytelling through art, showcasing the harmonious blend of Chinese and Western cultures.
Goals and Impact
Qu Xiangli, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management, emphasized that students’ experiences in this cultural setting would enhance their cultural confidence and deepen their connection to national identity. The base serves as a platform for cultural exchange and aims to effectively disseminate traditional Chinese culture globally.

Innovative Training Methods
The School of Management is committed to innovating educational and talent cultivation models for overseas students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The I-Dream program focuses on developing elite business students through a comprehensive five-dimensional training model that includes:
- Ideal and belief education
- Professional skill enhancement
- Comprehensive business practice
- Cultural inheritance
- Social responsibility
This initiative has successfully conducted seven phases of activities since 2018, impacting over 600 students and reaching 7,322 overseas students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The program aims to nurture management elites who are patriotic, internationally minded, and well-versed in Chinese culture, contributing to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The establishment of the Chinese Business Culture Research Base and the Exhibition and Exchange Base marks a significant step in enhancing the educational experience of overseas students, fostering cultural exchange, and promoting the rich heritage of Chinese business culture. Through these initiatives, Jinan University aims to empower the next generation of leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a globalized world.
