On December 17, 2024, the signing and unveiling ceremony for the Wuyi University Branch Center of the Key Laboratory of Human and Natural Community of Life at Jinan University took place in Room 204 of the Deputy Building of the School of Strategy, Literature and Business at Wuyi University. Notable attendees included:

- Luan Tiangang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuyi University

- He Fangjun, Second Level Inspector of the Guangdong Federation of Social Sciences

- Gu Naihua, Vice President of Jinan University

- Song Xianzhong, Director of the Key Laboratory

The ceremony was presided over by Fan Jiafeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management at Wuyi University.

 Significance of the Branch Center

During the ceremony, Luan Tiangang emphasized that the establishment of the sub-center marks a significant step in promoting ecological civilization in overseas Chinese hometowns. He expressed Wuyi University's commitment to leveraging its disciplinary strengths to explore new models of harmonious human-nature coexistence, anticipating fruitful collaboration with Jinan University.

He Fangjun congratulated the establishment of the sub-center, hoping it would lead in demonstration and provide essential social science insights to support Guangdong's modernization efforts.

Gu Naihua noted that this cooperative initiative reflects a deeper relationship between the two universities, fostering collaboration in research and the cultivation of talent.

Song Xianzhong highlighted the key achievements of the laboratory in scientific research, talent development, and social engagement, thanking all participants for their support. He expressed optimism about the collaboration's potential to inform government decision-making and contribute to sustainable development.

Following these remarks, representatives from the Guangdong Federation of Social Sciences, Jinan University, Wuyi University, and other esteemed guests unveiled the plaque, symbolizing the official establishment of the Wuyi University Sub-Center of the Key Laboratory of Human and Natural Community of Life.

 Future Directions

The establishment of the laboratory sub-center is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing cooperation between Jinan University and Wuyi University, facilitated by the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Social Sciences. It intends to harness the geographical and cultural strengths of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and cultivating innovative talent for green development. This initiative seeks to provide robust intellectual support for national strategies and regional economic growth.

Several prominent figures contributed to the event, including Lu Jianmin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University Zhuhai Campus, Qu Xiangli, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management, and various department directors and faculty members from both institutions. This collaborative endeavor is poised to make significant contributions toward sustainable development through shared expertise and resources.
