On December 13, 2024, the SF Cup Jinan University 2024 College Student Career Planning Competition and the 2nd National College Student Career Planning Competition Finals took place at the International Conference Hall of the Zeng Xianzi Science Museum on the Shipai Campus. The event was attended by Sun Yu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, along with heads from various functional departments, leaders responsible for student employment across secondary colleges, and nearly 400 teachers and students.

 Expert Judges and Participants

The finals featured a panel of seven esteemed judges, including:

- Yang Xingfeng, former president and senior editor of the Southern Press and Media Group

- Miao Guili, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Hong Kong Sihuan Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd.

- Curators and experts from the Guangdong Provincial People's Government Cultural and Historical Research Institute

 Opening Remarks

In his opening speech, Sun Yu emphasized the significance of the competition as a vital measure to implement the decisions of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, particularly the 14th Five-Year Plan for Employment Promotion. He highlighted the importance of guiding college students in establishing a correct perspective on career selection and employment. Sun also mentioned that the university would leverage this competition to enhance career education and employment guidance, fostering patriotism and ensuring high-quality employment for students.

 Launch of the Employment and Education Fund

During the event, the Employment and Education Fund was officially launched. Li Yang, Director of the Student Employment Guidance Center, and Huang Xiaohua, Deputy Director, presented thank-you letters to alumni and representatives from various organizations, including the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Hisense Group, for their ongoing support of student employment initiatives. Additionally, they received donation check cards and certificates from companies such as Shenzhen SF Tyson Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Excellent Mileage Education Technology Co., Ltd.

 Competition Highlights

The competition attracted nearly 8,000 students from 41 training units across the university. After a rigorous selection process, including class competitions, preliminary rounds, and semi-finals, 11 finalists presented their career planning processes, addressing self-awareness, career exploration, and growth paths. They also responded to questions from judges and faculty.

Following the presentations, judges Miao Guili and Tian Xin, recruitment manager at Tonkin Health Co., Ltd., offered professional feedback on the contestants' performances. Their insights provided valuable market information and guidance for the students’ future career planning.
