On December 27, 2024, Jinan University hosted the 2024 Outstanding Young Scholars Forum at the International Conference Hall of the Zeng Xianzi Science Museum on the Shipai Campus. The forum aimed to highlight the university's commitment to creating a competitive human resources system and to strengthen its talent attraction strategy globally.
Key Highlights of the Forum
- Attendance and Participation: The forum attracted over 60 distinguished young scholars from both domestic and international institutions, and it was broadcast live, reaching over 6,600 participants online from various prestigious universities and research institutions worldwide.
- Keynote Speakers: The event was graced by Fang Shusheng, a second-level inspector from the Education Department of Guangdong Province, and Weng Jian, Vice President of Jinan University. The forum was chaired by Gu Shiqian, Director of the Human Resources Development and Management Department.

Research and Sharing Sessions
Researcher Qu Yibo, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Development and Management Department, provided insights into Jinan University's talent policies. To further inform the attendees, four national-level talent scholars—Li Dan, Zhou Qinghua, Wang Jingzhou, and Li Xue—shared their experiences regarding personal growth, research development, and team-building at Jinan University.
Conclusion and Future Engagements
In his concluding remarks, Weng Jian recounted the university's rich history and its track record of producing prominent scholars. He reiterated the ongoing efforts to reform talent systems, enhance research capabilities, and foster scientific innovation.
