On December 15, 2024, the finals of the 2nd Guangdong Province College Students' Health Literacy Knowledge and Skills Competition concluded at South China Normal University, where JNU students achieved an impressive second prize.

The competition, organized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, aims to promote the Healthy China strategy by enhancing college students’ health literacy, self-care abilities, and overall health awareness. This year's event featured over 150 participating teams from across the province, covering various aspects of health knowledge, behavioral habits, and health skills. After intense competition, ten teams advanced to the finals.
Jinan University placed significant emphasis on preparing for this competition, organizing an internal selection process from November 13 to 20. The selected Jishi Xingxin team represented the university under the guidance of Liu Tao, head of the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, and technical advisor Dr. Peng Sihui. A comprehensive training plan was created to equip the team with necessary theoretical knowledge and performance skills.

During the finals, JNU students received enthusiastic applause from the audience and accolades from the judges for their strong grasp of professional knowledge and effective teamwork. Notably, their health science sitcom, titled It's All About Dieting, which explores the harmful impacts of the societal ideal of thinness on women's physical and mental health, won first place in the sitcom category. This performance exemplified the team's dedication and creativity, further solidifying their standing among the top competitors in the province.
