On December 2, 2024, the 13th National Traffic Safety Day was marked by the 2024 Guangzhou National Traffic Safety Day themed promotional event at the Fok Ying Tung Sports Center on Panyu campus. The event was collaboratively organized by the Traffic Police Detachment of the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau, the Panyu District Public Security Bureau, and Jinan University.

Event Highlights
Notable attendees included Chen Zhichuan, Deputy Leader of the Traffic Police Detachment, Duan Xiaojun, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Panyu District Public Security Bureau, and Liu Jinshun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University Panyu Campus. Representatives from 11 universities, such as Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology, along with stakeholders from the transportation industry, express delivery services, and local communities, also participated in the event.
The atmosphere was energized by a flash mob performance at the beginning, setting the stage for the launch ceremony of the Welcoming the National Games and Civilizing the Journey Traffic Safety Theme Promotion Month.
Engaging Performances
The event featured various performances aimed at raising awareness about traffic safety:
- An original sketch titled Stories on the Road of 'Lucky' presented by traffic police, humorously emphasized the importance of avoiding drunk driving.
- The Jinan University Art Troupe performed Running Youth, which invigorated the audience.
- Fengle Junior High School students showcased their program I am a Little Traffic Evangelist, creatively conveying traffic safety precautions through a mix of drama and dance.
- The event concluded with the uplifting song Civilized Traffic, Hand in Hand, sung by Guangzhou Traffic Police Officer Tao, encouraging collective efforts in promoting safe driving practices.

Special Contributions and Activities
During the event, Su Bingtian and Mo Youxue, teachers from the College of Physical Education at Jinan University, also contributed by sharing video messages advocating for traffic safety.
Interactive areas were set up for traffic safety simulation experiments, allowing visitors to experience the significance of seat belts and learn about driving blind spots through hands-on activities.
This event not only highlighted the importance of traffic safety but also fostered community engagement, making it a significant occasion for promoting awareness and education on safe transportation practices.
