On November 28, 2024, the second phase of the Excellent Action Plan for Chinese Science and Technology Journals (2024-2028) was announced, and the Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology, sponsored by the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology and managed by Jinan University, was selected as one of the top 100 high-level Chinese language journals in the country. This selection includes 90 academic journals and 10 popular science journals.

Founded in 1985, the Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology is recognized as the only comprehensive academic journal in pathophysiology in China. It operates under the supervision of the China Association for Science and Technology and focuses on publishing a wide range of research articles, special reviews, and innovations in experimental technology related to pathophysiology. The journal aims to enhance the understanding of disease mechanisms and has been approved multiple times for the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan, receiving accolades as one of the 100 Outstanding Chinese Academic Journals.

The journal's influence is further evidenced by its inclusion in various prestigious directories, such as Chinese Core Journals, China Excellent Science and Technology Journals, and China Science and Technology Core Journals. It is also indexed in several notable databases, including the China Science Citation Database (CSCD), CNKI, and international platforms like Scopus and EBSCO.

Thanks to the support from the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology, and various provincial and institutional departments, the journal has made significant strides in recent years. This recent selection marks the second time it has been recognized under the Excellent Action Plan, following its successful completion of the first phase (2019-2024).

Moving forward, the Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology aims to uphold its commitment to seeking truth and pragmatism, keeping pace with the times, and pursuing excellence. The journal will continue to align its goals with the directives of the Communist Party of China and strive to enhance its reputation as a leading scientific journal in the field of basic medicine, both domestically and internationally.

Launched in 2019, this Outstanding Action Plan is a collaborative initiative involving several key national bodies, including the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Education. Its primary goal is to promote the high-quality development of national science and technology journals and support the establishment of China as a scientific and technological powerhouse.
