The 22nd China International Talent Exchange Conference took place on November 2-3, 2024, at the Zhangjiang Science Hall in Shanghai. Organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the conference highlighted the theme, “Gathering Talents from All over the World, Seeking Cooperation and Win-win.”

 Event Highlights:

- The opening ceremony featured notable speeches by State Councilor Chen Yiqin, Wang Xiaoping, Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, and Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Mayor. 

- Lin Rupeng, Party Secretary of Jinan University, Vice Presidents Hong An and Zhang Hong, along with over 70 university officials—including representatives from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Human Resources Development and Management Office, College of Pharmacy, College of Life Sciences and Technology, and Institute of Economics and Social Research—were present at the conference.

- More than 1,300 foreign experts from over 120 countries and regions participated, focusing on scientific research achievements, professional development, and innovation.

 Jinan University's Role:

As one of the 21 host universities for the conference, Jinan University organized various talent exchange activities and received 32 foreign experts from 16 countries. Key activities included:

- Drug Analysis Seminar

- Innovation Seminar on Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Bioengineering

- Applied Economics Seminar

 Reception for Foreign Experts:

Jinan University hosted a special reception for foreign experts, led by Zhang Hong. Notable attendees included:

- Xia Qifeng, a second-level inspector from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology.

- Su Yongquan, a second-level researcher from the Talent Introduction Department.

Lin Rupeng spoke at the reception, emphasizing the importance of strengthening international academic exchanges to boost the university's research capabilities. Martin Banwell, an Academician of the Australian Academy of Sciences and Dean at Jinan University, represented the foreign experts, while Qu Yibo, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Development and Management Department, presented the university's overseas talent policy.

The China International Talent Exchange Conference, established in 2001, fosters international cooperation in scientific and technological innovation. Jinan University's participation and hosting of specific talent exchange activities underscore its commitment to enhancing global collaboration and attracting distinguished experts for mutual development.
