Jinan University achieved remarkable success at the 17th National College Students' Innovation Annual Conference, held from November 8th to 10th at Sichuan University's Jiang'an Campus. The university had six projects selected for the finals and secured four awards, ranking second among all participating universities in China. Additionally, Jinan University received the Excellent Organization Award, marking the 12th consecutive year since 2013 that it has reached the award podium at this prestigious event.

Highlights of Jinan University’s Achievements

Outstanding Projects: 

  - The team led by Xie Jiabao from the School of Physics and Optoelectronics Engineering won both the Best Creative Project and My Favorite Project awards for their innovative work on a One Stop Medical Breath Non-Invasive Diagnostic Instrument, supervised by Zheng Huadan and Zhang Di.

  - Two additional teams also excelled, both receiving the My Favorite Project award:

    - The team led by Liang Xiangxing from the School of Environment and Climate, guided by Lu Gang and Yan Mian, for their research on antibacterial soluble microneedles.

    - The team led by Yan Yilang from the School of Pharmacy, supervised by Lu Chao and Luo Rui, for their work on nanomotors driven by nitric oxide.

Conference Overview

This year's conference, themed Smart Future, featured 1,006 innovation and entrepreneurship projects recommended by universities and local education authorities. After rigorous evaluations, 510 projects made it to the finals, including categories for Excellent Academic Papers, My Favorite Projects, Best Creative Projects, and Best Entrepreneurial Projects. 

The National College Student Innovation Annual Conference is a key platform for showcasing innovation in higher education, organized by the Ministry of Education and supported by the National Innovation Plan. Since its inception in 2008, it has become one of the most significant and influential events in undergraduate education reform in China.
