From November 8th to 10th, the 16th IEEE Workshop on Active Disturbance Rejection Control took place at the Hilton Garden Inn of Jinan University in Zhuhai. This significant event was jointly hosted by the Chinese Society of Command and Control and Jinan University, with organizational support from the Active Disturbance Rejection Control Committee of the Chinese Society of Command and Control and the International Energy School/Energy and Power Research Center of Jinan University.

Key Highlights of the Conference:
- Attendance: The event attracted over 200 participants, including notable figures such as Liu Jizhen, an academician of the CAE and director of the National Key Laboratory of New Energy Power System, Liu Yuchao, Secretary General of the Chinese Command and Control Society, Huang Wensheng, Deputy District Head of Xiangzhou District, and Fang Fang, Vice President of North China Electric Power University. Lu Jianmin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University's Zhuhai Campus, and other experts from various universities, research institutes, and enterprises were also in attendance.
- Opening Ceremony: The ceremony was led by the president of the International Energy Institute and Jing Han. Liu Jizhen welcomed attendees and introduced the development status of the Institute and the Energy and Power Research Center. Liu Yuchao emphasized the seminar’s role as a vital platform for professional exchange regarding active disturbance rejection control, while Huang Wensheng expressed hopes for advancements in new productivity in Zhuhai’s Xiangzhou District.
Focus and Topics:
The conference concentrated on the latest advancements in active disturbance rejection control, featuring eight discussion topics addressing current challenges and hot issues, including:
1. Disturbance and Control in Energy Processes during Transition
2. Disturbance Rejection Control and Collaboration under Complex Flight Conditions
3. Perception, Cognition and Disturbance Rejection Control of Unmanned Systems
4. Disturbance Rejection Control and Model Optimization
5. Group Intelligent Decision Making and Disturbance Rejection Control
6. Estimation, Optimization and Disturbance Rejection Control of Networked Uncertain Systems
7. Prediction, Decision Making and Control of Intelligent Vehicles in Complex Environments
8. Disturbance and Control in New Energy Systems
Over 50 experts in these fields were invited to share their latest research findings.
Additional Activities:
- Pre-Conference Workshop: A one-day workshop was conducted prior to the conference on November 8th.
- Student Seminars: In the evening of November 8th, a themed seminar for students was held, followed by a small-scale seminar on November 9th aimed at newcomers to self disturbance rejection control, facilitating discussions about challenges faced in practical applications.
The successful organization of this symposium not only highlighted the Zhuhai campus's commitment to advancing research in disturbance rejection control but also fostered valuable connections among professionals in the field, contributing to the broader academic and industry dialogue.
