(Chen was delivering a lecture.)
Chen Yaozhong delivered an insightful presentation covering four key areas:
1. New Requirements for Teaching Staff: He outlined the evolving expectations for university teaching staff in the contemporary educational landscape.
2. Party Committee Responsibilities: Chen discussed the roles and responsibilities of the Party Committee's Teacher Work Department in implementing these new requirements.
3. Secondary Party Organizations: He addressed the new demands placed on secondary party organizations within the university context.
4. Warning Education on Teacher Ethics: Chen emphasized the importance of ethical conduct among teachers, highlighting the need for vigilance against misconduct.
Chen introduced the Mr. Jinan cultivation and improvement initiative, which aims to guide faculty in embracing their mission of nurturing talents for the Party and the country. He emphasized the need for teachers to embody the four haves—a concept aimed at fostering comprehensive teacher development.
He referred to key documents, such as the Quality Standards for Party Building and Ideological and Political Work of Teachers in Ordinary Higher Education Institutions (Trial), which outline expectations for secondary party organizations, including:
- Strengthening departmental responsibilities
- Providing strong and effective Party building guidance
- Recognizing outstanding teachers
- Deepening theoretical learning
- Ensuring adequate support in terms of time, space, and funding
Chen encouraged party organizations at all levels to enhance teachers' education on ideals, beliefs, and socialist core values. He proposed establishing a robust system for political theory learning among teachers and improving mechanisms for its implementation. This approach aims to solidify the foundation of ideological and political education and foster a strong ethical framework within the teaching staff.
Additionally, Chen presented typical cases of violations of the Ten Code of Professional Conduct for College Teachers, using these examples as cautionary tales. He urged attendees to adhere to laws and regulations, uphold professional standards, cultivate ethical behavior, and commit to the educational mission.
