In recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Week from September 9-15, Jinan University launched a series of promotional activities, culminating in a Campus Day event held on September 10 across its various campuses, including Shipai, Panyu, Zhuhai, Guangyuan East, and Shenzhen. This year’s theme, Cybersecurity for the People, Cybersecurity Depends on the People, aimed to engage the university community in an active dialogue about the importance of cybersecurity.

The event saw participation from officials across multiple departments including the Propaganda Department of the School Party Committee, the Political Security Department, and the Network and Educational Technology Center. These representatives were on hand to guide and support promotional activities throughout the day.

Throughout Campus Day, outdoor venues were adorned with prominent banners showcasing cybersecurity slogans, while LED screens and televisions displayed informative videos on network security and anti-fraud efforts. The Propaganda Department coordinated a simultaneous display of messages across campus, reinforcing the importance of cybersecurity through visual media.
Additionally, the Political Security Department utilized teaching building screens to broadcast anti-fraud videos, distribute informational flyers, and engage students in active discussions about fraud prevention. The School of Information Science and Technology organized an online cybersecurity knowledge competition, inviting both faculty and students to test their understanding of cybersecurity concepts.

Participants also received various resources including promotional exhibits and handouts, such as the Network Security Knowledge Propaganda Handbook and Anti-Fraud Propaganda Sheet. These materials focused on essential topics like data protection, safeguarding personal information, and techniques to prevent online fraud.
Through these initiatives, Jinan University aimed to enhance awareness of critical cybersecurity issues among its community members. The week's activities not only educated participants on fundamental cybersecurity practices but also fostered a culture of vigilance and responsibility regarding online safety. By embedding cybersecurity awareness into the university ethos, Jinan University is committed to building a robust network security defense, ensuring that students and staff alike are equipped to navigate the digital landscape securely.
