On September 12th, Wu Jun, Director of the Guangzhou Copyright Protection Center, along with Yang Lifang, Minister of the Business Department, and a four-member delegation, visited the Law School/Intellectual Property School at Jinan University. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the upcoming 8th Guangzhou University Student Debate Invitation Competition and explore avenues for collaboration.

The engagement began with an introduction by Huang Jianxin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School. He outlined the development and achievements of the Law School/Intellectual Property School, highlighting its strong faculty and student body as a solid foundation for potential partnerships with the Guangzhou Copyright Protection Center. Huang expressed the college's eagerness to leverage its unique advantages to deepen cooperative efforts, aiming to enhance the high-quality development of intellectual property initiatives in the region.
Director Wu Jun acknowledged that this visit marked the first stop of the Guangzhou Copyright Protection Center's outreach to universities. He stressed that the engagement was intended to facilitate research and discussion regarding the organization of the 8th College Student Copyright Debate Competition and to gather feedback from participating institutions. Wu provided insights into the historical context and primary functions of the Guangzhou Copyright Protection Center and proposed collaborative opportunities in research topics, event organization, internships, and practical exchanges.
During the meeting, attendees engaged in lively discussions regarding the organization of the debate competition and potential internship exchanges. Both sides explored strategies for optimizing future competitions, leveraging the Guangzhou Copyright Protection Center as a platform to foster school-enterprise collaboration, and establishing a regular mechanism for internship practices. They reached multiple agreements on advancing cooperation in these areas.
The visit underscores a commitment to enhancing the dialogue between educational institutions and copyright protection organizations, ultimately contributing to the advancement of intellectual property initiatives within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The partnership aims to empower students and faculty while promoting relevant practices in intellectual property management and protection.
