On July 17, the research team led by Yin Peng and Li Xiaojiang from the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Central Nervous Regeneration Research Institute at Jinan University published a significant paper titled Suppressing UBE2N Ameliorates Alzheimer's Disease Pathology Through the Clearance of Amyloid-β in the esteemed journal Alzheimer's & Dementia (Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1st District, IF=13.0).

This study identifies the inhibition of UBE2N as a potential therapeutic approach for Alzheimer's disease (AD), enabling the clearance of β-amyloid protein (Aβ) and subsequently improving AD pathology. The findings offer new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases and pave the way for developing effective treatment strategies.
Graduate student Zhang Chen from Jinan University serves as the first author of the article, while Jia Qingqing and Zhu Longhong are listed as co-first authors. The correspondents of the paper include Professor Li Xiaojiang and Researcher Yin Peng. This research was supported by funding from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the National Key R&D Program from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory Platform for Non-Human Primate Animal Model Research.
