The research team led by Chen Zhenqiang and Li Zhen from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering has made significant advancements in the realm of light field regulation. They recently published a study titled Electrically Engineering Synthetic Magnetic Fields for Polarized Photons in the prestigious journal Optica. This work is pivotal in providing new physical principles for manipulating structured light fields.

Graduate students Liu Guohua and Zeng Zepei are co-first authors of the paper, while Professors Fu Shenhe and Chen Zhenqiang serve as co-corresponding authors.
The findings from this research introduce innovative principles for controlling the spin of polarized photons utilizing artificially synthesized magnetic fields. This breakthrough is expected to offer critical insights for the advancement of micro-nano photonic devices with polarization response capabilities. The study received support from various projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Central University Basic Research Fund.
