Recently, Professor Ye Wencai and Researcher Wang Lei from the School of Pharmacy at Jinan University, along with Researcher Huang Wei from the Second Clinical Medical College, Professor Li Chuangchuang from Southern University of Science and Technology, and Professor Zou Quanming from the Army Medical University, published a significant research paper titled Asymmetrical Total Synthesis of Polycyclic Xanthones and Discovery of a WalK Activator Active Against MRSA in Nature Communications (IF=14.7). This research marks the first completion of the cluster asymmetric total synthesis of six complex natural polyepoxyanthracene compounds, and it identifies the first novel WalK activator that exhibits notable anti-MRSA activity.

Co-first authors of the paper include Associate Researcher Cheng Minjing from Jinan University, PhD student Wu Yanyi, and Professor Zeng Hao from the Army Medical University.
