A significant stride towards advancing research and innovation in optoelectronic technologies was witnessed at Jinan University's School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering with the convening of the appointment ceremony and first meeting of the inaugural advisory committee for the International Cooperation Joint Laboratory for Optoelectronic Hybrid Integrated Circuits, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education.

Gracing the occasion, Vice President Hong An of Jinan University delivered a compelling address, alongside notable luminaries such as Professor Yao Jianping, distinguished academician from the Canadian Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Yu Siyuan from Sun Yat-Sen University, among other esteemed guests from renowned academic institutions.

The appointment ceremony, overseen by Wu Lusheng, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Research Department, featured accolades for the accomplishments of the Joint Laboratory in fostering talent, conducting groundbreaking research, and fostering collaborations at the nexus of academia and industry. In a symbolic gesture of recognition, Hong An presented appointment letters to key members of the advisory committee, including Yao Jianping and Yu Siyuan.

Under the adept stewardship of Academician Yao Jianping, the Advisory Committee delved into strategic discussions aimed at charting the course for the laboratory's future endeavors. Guan Baiou, the Chinese director of the laboratory, outlined the construction goals, research trajectories, and developmental blueprints, receiving laudatory feedback and incisive recommendations from the esteemed committee members.
