Jinan University recently marked the culmination of academic journeys with its 2024 graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony held across the Shipai, Panyu, and Zhuhai campuses. Esteemed school leaders like Lin Rupeng and Xing Feng, along with department heads, college leaders, and representatives of faculty and students, gathered to witness the achievements of the graduating class and their transition into the next stage of life.

During the event, Lin Rupeng, the Party Committee Secretary of the university, officially announced the Decision of Jinan University on Commending the Outstanding Graduates of 2024 and other related commendations and degree awards. Notable graduates were honored with awards presented by school officials.

A total of 9,915 graduates received their degrees this year, comprising 3,814 undergraduate, 5,457 master's, and 644 doctoral recipients. Among them, 577 graduates were commended for their outstanding academic performance, dedication to essential national areas, and significant contributions.

Leading the graduates through a ceremonial tradition, Xing Feng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), president of Jinan University, and chairman of the Degree Evaluation Committee, awarded doctoral graduates their degree certificates and facilitated a collective photo session. Undergraduate and graduate students followed suit, individually receiving their degrees on stage, capturing a moment with their professors, and passing through the symbolic gateway towards their new endeavors.

Offering warm congratulations to the graduates, Xing Feng reminisced about the shared experiences and bonds formed during their time at Jinan University. He emphasized the importance of loyalty, cultural dissemination, and continuous self-improvement, urging the graduates to uphold these values as they venture into the next chapter of their lives.

Professor Zhang Huantian, Vice Dean Guo Tuan, Dean Chen Baofeng, and Teacher Xu Xiaowen, representing the faculty, extended heartfelt wishes to all graduating students. They encouraged the graduates to seize opportunities, maintain a positive outlook, and contribute to society with gratitude and dedication.

Alumni representatives, including Zhang Jianzhong, Duan Hongliang, Lin Min, and Chen Tingyang, shared their insights and experiences with the graduating class, urging them to pursue their aspirations, uphold the Jinan spirit, and make meaningful contributions to society.

The ceremony was enriched with emotional performances and a poignant graduation film, Jinan Talent Ode, created by the Party Committee's Propaganda Department, which resonated with the graduates as a portrayal of their collective determination and spirit.
