Jinan University showcased its commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students by organizing the China International College Student Innovation Competition (2024) Campus Competition Commendation Conference. The event, held on June 27th at the International Conference Hall of the Zeng Xianzi Science Museum in the Shipai Campus, celebrated the exceptional projects that garnered accolades in the 2024 competition. Distinguished attendees, including Vice President Zhang Xiaoxin, university leaders, faculty members, project representatives, and competition experts, graced the conference with their presence.

During his address at the commendation conference, Zhang Xiaoxin extended his heartfelt congratulations to all award-winning projects and highlighted the school's strides in innovation and entrepreneurship education through a student-centric approach. He outlined key aspirations and mandates for the institution: enhancing top-level design and institutional mechanisms, fostering the transformation of research outcomes, and motivating innovation and zeal for entrepreneurship. Zhang urged winning teams to persevere and prepare vigorously for provincial-level competitions to uphold the school's academic prestige and propel continuous project innovation.

The commendation conference recognized distinguished projects, with 16 gold award recipients, 64 silver award laureates, 48 bronze award achievers, 16 exceptional innovation and entrepreneurship mentors, and 6 professional colleges bestowed with the Excellent Organization Award in 2023. Notable recipients included the School of Journalism and Communication, the College of Pharmacy, the School of Nursing, the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, the College of Environment and Climate, and the School of Marxism.

The conference also featured insights from event experts who shared invaluable tips for preparing for the provincial competition. Emphasizing the significance of meticulous preparation, the experts underscored the importance of refining project materials, perfecting roadshows, and mastering defense techniques. Their guidance aimed to equip participants with the necessary tools and strategies to excel in the upcoming provincial-level contests, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the student community.
