The review meeting for the continuation of the Overseas Chinese Language Research Center of the National Language and Writing Research Base was a significant event held on June 12th, 2024, at the School of Chinese Literature, Jinan University. The expert group comprised of distinguished members such as Professor Qu Sentinel from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), Yu Xiao from the Chinese Language Education Foundation, Zhang Ripei from the National Language and Writing Policy Research Center, and other esteemed academics and officials.

During the meeting, Lin Rupeng, on behalf of Jinan University, welcomed the experts and highlighted the accomplishments of the Overseas Chinese Language Research Center since its inception in 2005. The university reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the center financially and operationally to further advance its work in teaching, research, social services, and talent development. Additionally, Professor Guo Xi, the Director of the center, presented a comprehensive report on the fourth phase of the center's development from 2019 to 2024, showcasing the progress made in various areas of research and academic activities.

The evaluation expert group conducted a thorough review of the center's achievements and infrastructure, providing positive feedback and constructive suggestions for its future growth. Chen Ying expressed gratitude for the guidance received and pledged to enhance the center's research depth, breadth, and impact in alignment with the feedback from the experts.

Established in 2005 through collaboration between the Ministry of Education's Language Information Management Department and Jinan University, the Overseas Chinese Language Research Center has made significant contributions to national language and writing initiatives. The center has undertaken numerous research projects, published scholarly works, and received acclaim for its insights and recommendations from key national and governmental bodies.

The dedication and scholarly achievements of the center's members, as evidenced by their publications in prestigious academic journals and recognition from influential organizations, reflect the impactful role of the Overseas Chinese Language Research Center in advancing language studies and serving the broader national development strategies.
