On the afternoon of May 30th, the third phase of the 19th season of the Winning in Innovation Jinan University Innovation Competition, sponsored by the Academic Affairs Office of the Undergraduate College and organized by the Undergraduate Teaching Management Office of the Zhuhai Campus, was convened at the Zhuhai Campus. The competition showcased entries focusing on a diverse array of themes such as traditional humanities, artificial intelligence, rural revitalization, and more. Participants delved into pressing societal issues, unveiling valuable insights and empowering the youth for innovation and entrepreneurship. With a total of 7 competitive teams, the event culminated in the selection of one Best Project Award, one Most Popular Award, and three Excellent Project Awards.
Revitalizing the Huazhou Orange Industry with an Internet-Based Model
The Juyue Jiapin team, deeply entrenched in Huazhou County, Maoming City, identified and tackled three major challenges plaguing the local orange industry: insufficient cultivation practices, obsolete processing techniques, and lackluster sales strategies. Through collaborative research and development with the Huazhou Agricultural Science Institute, the team spearheaded innovations in seedlings and processing equipment, collaborated with Jinan University's Food Laboratory to craft novel orange derivatives, fostered ties with enterprise cooperatives for sales expansion, propelling a renaissance in Huazhou's orange sector, and augmenting farmers' incomes. During expert evaluations, judges advised on sustaining the project post-graduation and leveraging governmental policies for future promotion. The endeavor clinched both the Best Project Award and the Most Popular Award.

Bridging the Gap Between Tradition and Modernity: A Cultural Odyssey for the 21st Century Youth
The Classic of Mountains and Seas Paradise emerged as a pioneering China-Chic cultural game, melding ancient The Classic of Mountains and Seas folklore with contemporary gaming dynamics. Dedicated to decoding The Classic of Mountains and Seas worldview for modern youth, the project unveiled novel monster narratives, breathing life into mythical creatures amidst an immersive gaming backdrop. With innovative features like Monster Daily and Monster Moments, blending tradition with modernity, players journeyed through a realm where the mountains, seas, and classics converged seamlessly. Addressing queries on the copyright nuances of The Classic of Mountains and Seas materials, the project lead assured a judicious approach to image design compliance and copyright protection, securing the esteemed Excellent Project Award.

Harmonizing Melodies with AI: The Future of Music Processing
The Sonic Intelligence team embarked on a transformative mission to infuse AI technology into music creation, fostering a profound love for melodic arrangements. Pioneering a multifunctional music processing system guided by artificial intelligence, the project innovated across various domains such as automatic melody harmonization, format conversions, track segmentation, score recognition, vocal extraction, and visual score representation. Amplifying the music experience through cutting-edge modules like the M2C algorithm and the MT3 model framework, coupled with a user-friendly web interface, the project heralded a new era of musical ingenuity. Garnering inquiries on application scenarios and revenue models, the team underscored its commitment to enhancing creative and technical efficiencies in music production, catering to artists, enthusiasts, and educators alike, with the tantalizing prospect of crafting virtual singers using AI. This dynamic project secured the prestigious Excellent Project Award.

Empowering Accessibility through Brain-Controlled Robotics
In a groundbreaking endeavor, the Intelligent Brain Controlled Robots project unveiled a smart assistive robot steered by steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, envisioned as a catalyst for creating an inclusive future. Enabling users to transform EEG signals into actionable commands via targeted stimuli, these robots navigate the environment based on the user's brain instructions, facilitating a spectrum of daily tasks aimed at enhancing quality of life. Commended for its technological acumen and transformative applications, the project received accolades during expert assessments, with a call for further elaboration on application scenarios to underscore its advantageous features. The project clinched the esteemed Excellent Project Award.

After the competition, Pan Qunying, Director of the Undergraduate Teaching Management Office at the Zhuhai campus, ceremoniously presented certificates to the victorious teams, celebrating their innovative accomplishments.
