In a pivotal collaboration, the distinguished Wang Tong research group from the College of Life Science and Technology/First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University and the esteemed Chen Yaokai research group from the Chongqing Public Health Medical Treatment Center have unveiled a groundbreaking discovery in the realm of AIDS research. Their joint publication, titled Transcriptomic crosstalk between virus and host factors drives alternative homeostasis of T-cell promotion and cell death in HIV-infected immune non-responders, recently graced the esteemed pages of the Journal of Infection.

Tang Shengquan, a promising doctoral candidate nurtured through the joint training efforts of Jinan University and Chongqing Public Health, and Lu Yanqiu, a dedicated attending physician from Chongqing Public Health, stand as the co-first authors of this seminal work. Renowned researcher Wang Tong and esteemed Professor Chen Yaokai assume the roles of co-corresponding authors, orchestrating a symphony of scientific inquiry and discovery. This transformative study has been bolstered by the unwavering support of prestigious research grants, including the National Science and Technology Major Project, the National Natural Science Foundation General Project, and the Guangzhou Innovation Leadership Team Project.
