On May 20-24, 2024, JNU conducted a successful five-day comprehensive training program aimed at enhancing the teaching and research capabilities of primary and secondary school backbone teachers through basic education assistance. The program catered to 97 backbone teachers from Haojiang District of Shantou City, Qujiang District of Shaoguan City, Shixing County of Shaoguan City, and Boluo County of Huizhou City.

The training comprised thematic lectures, segmented guidance, teaching workshops, group discussions, and on-site visits. Experts from various esteemed institutions such as Hangzhou Normal University, Guangzhou Kaiming Teacher Development Research Institute, the editorial department of Guangdong Education Magazine, Tongzhou District Teacher Development Center in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, and Nansha School affiliated with Guangzhou University were invited to provide valuable guidance on educational research project applications, research paper writing, and the implementation of grand concept teaching. Additionally, students had the opportunity to conduct on-site research and observation at Longkou West Road Primary School and Huijing Experimental School in Tianhe District.

During the closing ceremony of the training, students engaged in a group discussion and reported on their experiences, focusing on Difficulties in teaching and research work, Gains and inspirations in training, and How to promote the knowledge acquired in this training. Li Xiangyong, Vice Principal and Member of the Teaching and Research Center Group of Nanshan Primary School in Haojiang District, Shantou City, eloquently shared his reflections on the training, expressing gratitude to Jinan University for providing a high-quality learning platform. He emphasized the effectiveness of the training in improving teaching and research skills and pledged to continue updating teaching and research concepts, fostering a spirit of lifelong learning, and striving for the mutual development of teachers and students.
These training courses, held twice a year, constitute a critical component of our commitment to supporting basic education in Shixing County and Boluo County in Huizhou City, as well as providing comprehensive and integrated assistance in Haojiang District and Qujiang District of Shantou City. This initiative aligns with the mandates of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government's Hundred and Thousand and Ten-thousand Project and the Provincial Department of Education's Notice on Further Promoting the Implementation of Comprehensive and Integrated Assistance Work, demonstrating our dedication to the advancement of education at the grassroots level.
