In a recent development, Jinan University's School of Stomatology has been granted undergraduate professional accreditation by the Ministry of Education following a comprehensive evaluation conducted by the expert group of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Oral Medicine Majors in Higher Education Institutions. Led by Chairman Ye Ling, who is also the Vice President of Sichuan University and the Dean of West China School of Stomatology at Sichuan University, the esteemed expert group, which includes industry experts such as Wang Lin, Vice Chairman of the same committee and former Vice President of Nanjing Medical University, undertook the accreditation process from May 27th to 30th.

During the accreditation period, a pivotal professional accreditation meeting was convened on May 28th at Room 1111 of the school's administrative building. The session witnessed the participation of all expert group members, Lin Rupeng, the School's Party Committee Secretary, Vice Presidents Hong An and Zhang Xiaoxin, as well as leaders from government and medical departments, affiliated hospitals, and the School of Stomatology's Party and government leadership team. In his remarks, Secretary Lin Rupeng extended a warm welcome to the expert group and expressed gratitude for their involvement. He highlighted the significance of the professional accreditation in not only assessing the school's dental education and teaching endeavors but also providing comprehensive guidance, support, and assistance for the advancement and reform of the dental profession. He affirmed the school's commitment to leveraging this accreditation opportunity to collaborate diligently with the expert group and embrace their guidance humbly.

Throughout the evaluation phase, the expert group conducted meticulous accreditation work, encompassing campus visits, discussions, interviews, class observations, base inspections, and review of relevant materials to gain insights into various educational aspects such as teaching team quality, infrastructure, teaching management, and teaching and scientific research activities.

Following the assessment, the expert group generated a feedback resolution. A professional accreditation feedback meeting was convened on May 30th at the school's administrative building, attended by expert group members, President Xing Feng, Vice President Hong An, Zhang Xiaoxin, representatives from government and medical departments, relevant colleges, affiliated hospitals, and the School of Stomatology's leadership team, with Ye Ling chairing the session.

During this meeting, the expert group provided invaluable opinions and recommendations on enhancing teaching staff quality, improving teaching conditions and infrastructure, and ensuring uniform management of clinical teaching. They expressed their commitment to monitoring the progress of dentistry at Jinan University and encouraged the School of Stomatology to promote its unique characteristics as an overseas Chinese institution while contributing to the advancement of dentistry and healthcare in the Greater Bay Area encompassing Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
