The School of Information Science and Technology's Computer Science Department recently organized a vibrant graduate academic scholarship forum themed Focusing on Academic Innovation and Stimulating Research Enthusiasm, underlining its commitment to fostering knowledge and technological innovation among graduate students. The event, held on May 13th, aimed to enhance research capabilities, promote scholarly exchange, and showcase outstanding research outcomes.

The forum featured a distinguished panel of eight experts, including Professor Luo Weiqi, Professor Wei Kaimin, Professor Liu Zitao, Professor Long Jinyi, Professor He Zaobao, Professor Wang Xiaoming, Professor Wang Ke, and College Research and Management Office Director Zhao Chengxiang, who served as judges. Noteworthy attendees included Luo Guowei, the School of Information Science and Technology's Party Committee Secretary, and Peng Pan, the Department of Computer Science's Party Branch Secretary.
In his opening remarks, Professor Luo Weiqi lauded the forum's role in fostering student collaboration and advancement. Emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the competition, he encouraged participants to leverage the platform to enhance their skills, promote scholarly achievements, and cultivate camaraderie among peers. Wu Hanrui, the college's Research and Management Office Director, elucidated the forum's framework and outlined the defense selection rules, emphasizing evaluation criteria focused on ideological quality, research innovation, and accomplishments.

The event showcased the research endeavors of four doctoral and four master's students across diverse domains such as architecture, computer networks, machine learning, data mining, and privacy protection. Through a blend of system demonstrations and PPT presentations, participants detailed their contributions, sparking engaging discussions with experts on the research's applicability and impact.
Following the presentations and Q&A sessions, the judges assessed contestants from the doctoral and master's groups, culminating in the announcement of winners. Notable recipients included Pang Shujie, Zhang Xiaoquan, Wu Chaorui, and Wang Jianhui from the doctoral group, and Chen Zicong, Li Nuosi, Tian Lei, and Zhang Qiaohong from the master's group, each recognized for their academic prowess and research excellence.
The forum not only served as a platform for intellectual exchange but also instilled a spirit of scholarly pursuit among graduate students, enriching their research perspectives and fostering a conducive environment for showcasing talents and sharing academic insights.
