In a riveting display of innovative prowess, the Winning in Innovation Jinan University Innovation Competition celebrated the remarkable achievements of visionary teams during the second phase of its 19th season. Hosted by the Academic Affairs Office of the Undergraduate College and organized in collaboration with the Joint College of Jinan University and Birmingham University, the competition, held at the Panyu Campus on May 9th, spotlighted projects centered around traditional humanities, modern healthcare, rural revitalization, and other crucial themes shaping our world.
Amid fierce competition and rigorous evaluation, a total of 7 teams advanced to the main event, each vying for recognition and acclaim. Following a series of captivating presentations and profound insights shared, the event culminated in the selection of the prestigious Best Project Award, the coveted Most Popular Award, and three distinguished Excellent Project Awards.
The Jinlong Team
With a mission to fuse traditional Chinese medicine with agricultural practices to bolster rural regeneration, the Jinlong team soared to prominence with their visionary Earthworm + model. This innovative approach, which leverages the team's expertise and addresses the scarcity of wild earthworm resources, garnered widespread accolades for its impact on agricultural cooperation. The team's comprehensive strategy, encompassing earthworm eggs provision, earthworm+ traditional Chinese medicine services, and collaborative ventures with pharmaceutical companies, unfolds a pioneering framework for elevating agriculture from technical assistance to commercial success.

During the rigorous questioning session, Team Leader Wang Shu elucidated on the clinical benefits of the project's primary focus, earthworm, underscoring its potential in alleviating various health concerns. In recognition of their groundbreaking work, the team clinched both the prestigious Best Project Award and the revered Most Popular Award.
The Xiwang Team
Dedicated to propelling the rural industry forward through selenium innovation, the Xiwang team harnessed the expertise of Professor Chen Baofeng's research group at the School of Chemistry and Materials Science. Their cutting-edge nano selenium technologies and novel absorption methods for rice cultivation promised a brace of exceptional products enriching the local agricultural landscape. By infusing health-centric values into their initiative, the team charted a course for rural revitalization and garnered the esteemed Excellent Project Award.

The Landiao Team
Embracing the rich intangible cultural heritage, the team championed the art of olive carving by intertwining business acumen with public welfare. Through an intricate blend of creativity and sustainability, the project unfolded a vibrant tapestry of cultural activities, carving courses, and experiential engagements, all aimed at preserving Guangzhou Olive Carving as a revered intangible heritage. The judges hailed the project's ingenuity and foresight, bestowing upon it the distinguished Excellent Project Award.

The 3D Modeling Team
Pioneering a groundbreaking 3D modeling platform fueled by monocular SLAM technology and NeRF, the team revolutionized design creation with a user-friendly interface and practical design tools. Their platform offered users the freedom to craft intricate 3D models effortlessly, providing a new frontier for design enthusiasts. Through a blend of creativity and technological innovation, the team secured the Excellent Project Award, marking a milestone in design accessibility and user experience enhancement.

In a grand finale, Sun Jianli from the Academic Affairs Office of the Undergraduate School and Zhou Guangxiong from the School of Pharmacy presented certificates to these exceptional and visionary teams, underscoring their vital contributions to the landscape of innovation and entrepreneurship.
