In a harmonious confluence of academia and journalism, a delegation led by Hu Jian, President of the Guangdong Branch of People's Daily, journeyed to the esteemed grounds of Jinan University on May 13th, marking a significant milestone in the realm of research and exchange. Accompanied by He Linping, Director of the Interview Department, Wang Yunna, Deputy Director, and journalist Hong Qiuting, the delegation delved into a thought-provoking exploration of international relations at the School of International Relations and the Institute of Overseas Chinese Studies.

The meeting was graced by the presence of Lin Rupeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University, and Zhang Xiaoxin, Vice President, who extended a warm welcome to the distinguished visitors in a spirited display of camaraderie and intellectual exchange.
Embarking on a journey through time, Lin Rupeng's poignant welcome address traced the rich tapestry of the Nanyang Culture and Education Division, a venerable institution that laid the cornerstone for the School of International Relations and the Institute of Overseas Chinese Studies in 1927. Delving into the school's illustrious history and illustrious achievements in the realms of overseas Chinese studies, Southeast Asian studies, international affairs, and regional and national studies, Lin Rupeng cast a luminous spotlight on the institution's enduring legacy of academic excellence and scholarly inquiry.
Hu Jian illuminated the purpose behind the delegation's visit, articulating a keen interest in the vibrant landscape of overseas Chinese studies at Jinan University. Both parties agree to enhance communication and collaboration in the future, collaboratively advancing research and development in relevant fields, and achieving resource sharing and mutual complementarity.
