In a remarkable achievement for Jinan University, a team of talented students from the College of Information Science and Technology recently participated in the 46th International College Programming Competition Global Finals (ICPC WF) held in Luxor, Egypt from April 14th to 19th. The prestigious competition, often referred to as the Computer Olympiad, brought together 124 university teams from 38 countries and regions, with each university represented by a single team.

Under the guidance of Zhang Zhen, a professor in the Department of Computer Science and head coach of the ACM team, the Jinan University team comprising Ma Jun, Wen Yinhua, and Wen Jianwei showcased exceptional skills and determination. These undergraduate students from the School of Information Science and Technology and the Joint College of Jinan University and the University of Birmingham qualified for the Global Finals after excelling in rigorous regional selection competitions involving over 50,000 college students from more than 3,000 universities across 111 countries.
During the intense five-hour competition at the Global Finals, the team successfully solved five challenging problems, securing an impressive 61st position globally. This significant accomplishment not only highlights the team's technical prowess but also underscores Jinan University's commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence in IT education.
