On the morning of April 30th, 2024, a momentous occasion unfolded at Jinan University's Panyu Campus as the main body topping-out ceremony for the first phase of the Talent Apartment Project took place atop the second building of the project. The ceremony, graced by Lin Rupeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University, Vice President Gu Naihua, Deng Xinyong, Director of the Guangzhou Key Public Construction Project Management Center, and esteemed guests from the realms of engineering, construction, and supervision, marked a significant milestone in the campus's infrastructure development.

During his address at the ceremony, Secretary Lin Rupeng extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, emphasizing the pivotal role of the Talent Apartment Project in addressing the housing needs of faculty and recruited talents at Jinan University. He lauded the successful completion of the first phase of the project and the accompanying kindergarten as a crucial step forward in enhancing the campus's residential offerings. Once operational, the talent apartments will not only provide living quarters but also childcare and essential services for faculty and staff, thereby bolstering the university's capacity to retain teaching talent, attract high-caliber individuals, and elevate its academic standing towards becoming a Double First Class and high-level institution.

Secretary Lin Rupeng urged all stakeholders involved in the construction to seize the momentum of the talent apartment's completion, redouble their efforts, and expedite the provision of comfortable and secure housing for the university's dedicated teachers and staff.

The Talent Apartment Project at Jinan University's Panyu Campus, a vital initiative aligned with the national talent strategy and aimed at enhancing the living standards of faculty and staff, received approval for construction from the Central United Front Work Department in 2020. Encompassing a total construction area of 139,628 square meters and 1,273 units, the project will be executed in two phases. The first phase, comprising 673 premium residential units, commenced construction in October 2022 and is slated for completion acceptance and occupancy by June 2025.

The capping ceremony symbolizes a significant stride towards realizing Jinan University's vision of providing modern and conducive living spaces for its academic community, underpinning the institution's commitment to nurturing a vibrant and supportive campus environment.
