In a resplendent display of academic excellence and innovation, four esteemed teachers from the Zhuhai campus emerged triumphant at the 2023 Innovation Zhuhai Science and Technology Award and Science and Technology Innovation Excellence Award Ceremony held at the Jinshan Software Park in Zhuhai on March 29th. This distinguished event serves as a beacon for honoring individuals, teams, and entities that have made remarkable strides in the realm of science, technology, and innovative endeavors with tangible applications.

The Zhuhai campus proudly fielded a quartet of teachers for evaluation, all of whom clinched coveted accolades. Professor Qu Ting, the erudite Executive Director of the Campus Management Committee, secured the esteemed Zhuhai-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Promotion Award. Meanwhile, the illustrious Professor Yang Guanghua, revered as the Dean of the School of Intelligent Science and Engineering/Artificial Intelligence Industry College, was bestowed with the prestigious Zhuhai Science and Technology Innovation Star award. Adding to the illustrious roster of awardees were Professor Wang Weiliang from the esteemed International Energy College and Associate Professor Xu Xiaowen from the esteemed School of Packaging Engineering, who were respectively honored with the esteemed Zhuhai Science and Technology Innovation Leader award.

Professor Qu Ting, as a beacon of innovation and collaboration, shared profound insights on leveraging Overseas Chinese School Platforms to attract talents from Hong Kong and Macao for innovation and entrepreneurship in Zhuhai. Emphasizing the imperative for local universities to harness the collective intellectual prowess of scholars and scientists from the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, he advocated for a tripartite approach encompassing scientific and technological innovation, talent cultivation, and industry development. Noteworthy is the forthcoming inauguration of the Jinan University Science and Technology Park (Zhuhai), a collaborative venture between Jinan University and the Zhuhai Municipal Government, poised to emerge as a pivotal hub for scientific advancement and talent enrichment within the Greater Bay Area.

The award ceremony, a celebration of ingenuity and progress, lauded the recipients of the 2023 scientific and technological innovation awards, recognizing outstanding units, exemplary individuals, and groundbreaking scientific and technological innovations in Zhuhai. Among the distinguished honorees were 16 Technology Innovation Leaders, 21 Technology Innovation Stars, 10 Excellent Technology Brokers, 8 recipients of the Pearl River Hong Kong Macao Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Promotion Awards, and 41 outstanding Technology Innovation Products.
