The International Chinese Education Column Construction Seminar was successfully convened at the College of Chinese Language and Culture, Jinan University, on March 31st. Organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and the World Chinese Language Teaching Association, and hosted by Jinan University, the seminar aimed to advance the high-quality development of international Chinese education.

Key figures in attendance included Song Yongbo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education, Zhong Yinghua, President of the World Chinese Language Teaching Association, Lin Rupeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University, and Zhang Xiaoxin, Vice President. The event saw discussions on strategic research, the international Chinese education system, regional policies, and the integration of digital technologies in education.

Zhong Yinghua emphasized the academic excellence and impact of the International Chinese Education Column, calling for innovative column designs to elevate the publication's service capabilities. Lin Rupeng highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of international Chinese education and its significance in the academic landscape.

Shen Guchao from Nanjing University's China Social Science Research and Evaluation Center delivered a special report on journal development, while leaders from prominent journals shared insights on enhancing the influence of the International Chinese Education Column. The collaboration between the World Chinese Language Teaching Association, the Ministry of Education, and various journals aims to provide a platform for scholarly exchange and support the growth of scholars in the field.

With the participation of 30 domestic and foreign journals, the construction of the International Chinese Education Column is poised to make significant contributions to the advancement of international Chinese education.
