In a concerted effort to bridge the gap between aspiring graduates and prospective employers, Jinan University recently played host to the prestigious Welcome to Guangzhou Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Special Recruitment Event on March 18, 2024. The event, held at the Main Campus, witnessed the convergence of 400 esteemed households and units, offering over 10,000 high-quality employment positions across diverse sectors, thereby heralding a new era of professional opportunities for graduates.

Jointly organized by six prominent departments, including the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, the Municipal Education Bureau, and the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the event epitomized a collaborative endeavor to foster synergistic partnerships between academia and industry. Notable participants included the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Municipal People's Government, the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, underscoring the event's strategic importance in promoting regional employment.

Sun Yu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University, graced the occasion with his presence, offering invaluable guidance and support for the specialized initiative of Visiting Enterprises and Expanding Jobs to Promote Employment. The event witnessed the active involvement of key stakeholders from sponsoring units, alongside leaders and counselors overseeing employment initiatives across various colleges within the university, highlighting a collective commitment towards fostering a conducive environment for career advancement.

The recruitment landscape at the event was characterized by six distinct special zones, each catering to diverse industry segments, including the New Quality Productivity zone, the Welcome to Guangzhou Greater Bay Area zone, the state-owned enterprise zone, the education and training zone, the financial technology zone, and the biomedicine zone. Noteworthy participants such as China Telecom, HSBC Global, GAC Aian, and Lingnan Group showcased an array of employment opportunities spanning manufacturing, scientific research, technology services, information technology, finance, and construction domains, enriching the spectrum of choices available to aspiring graduates.

The event also featured dedicated functional areas, such as the Greater Bay Area Workplace Mentor service zone, the graduate employment and entrepreneurship policy consultation area, and the recruitment policy consultation stand, aimed at providing comprehensive support and guidance to attendees. The seamless integration of these service areas garnered unanimous acclaim from both graduates and recruitment unit staff, underscoring the event's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for mutual growth and development.
