On March 14th, the main campus of Jinan University welcomed a distinguished delegation led by Deputy Secretary for Labor and Welfare of Hong Kong, Ho Chi ming, for a recruitment lecture on the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Plan. The event aimed to promote cross-border collaboration and enhance employment opportunities for Hong Kong youth within the dynamic Greater Bay Area ecosystem. President Xing Feng and Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee Sun Yu graced the occasion, emphasizing the importance of fostering talent exchange and mutual growth between Guangdong and Hong Kong.

The meeting commenced with a cordial exchange between Xing Feng and Ho Chi ming at the alumni building, where Xing Feng underscored Jinan University's pivotal role as a premier hub for nurturing high-quality talent from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities. Recognizing the pressing demand for skilled professionals in Hong Kong's evolving economic landscape, Xing Feng expressed the university's commitment to expanding employment avenues for Hong Kong youth through the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Plan. This initiative seeks to facilitate a symbiotic exchange of talent resources between Guangdong and Hong Kong, fostering a mutually beneficial partnership.

Following the meeting, Ho Chi ming and his delegation embarked on a tour of the School History Museum to gain insights into Jinan University's rich heritage and founding ethos, highlighting the institution's enduring commitment to academic excellence and cross-cultural engagement.

During the subsequent recruitment lecture, Sun Yu extended a warm welcome to Ho Chi ming and his delegation, affirming the university's steadfast support for the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Plan. Emphasizing the plan's proactive stance on enhancing youth employment prospects in Hong Kong, Sun Yu encouraged students to seize emerging opportunities and actively engage with the evolving regional landscape. He reiterated the university's pledge to deepen collaboration with Hong Kong stakeholders and facilitate employment and entrepreneurial pathways for Hong Kong students within the Greater Bay Area.
In his address, Ho elaborated on the plan's objectives, distinctive features, implementation strategies, and associated subsidy policies, offering valuable insights to the attentive audience of Hong Kong students. The interactive session that ensued saw students actively participating, posing insightful queries that Ho addressed with clarity and depth, fostering a spirit of dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The lecture on the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Plan served as a platform for constructive dialogue, fostering greater understanding and collaboration between Jinan University and Hong Kong, while empowering students to navigate the evolving employment landscape with confidence and foresight.
