JNU Shenzhen campus celebrated a remarkable achievement on March 11th, 2024, as its team clinched third place in the prestigious Left Bank Bordeaux Cup (LBBC) World Famous School Wine Tasting Competition in the Chinese region. The competition, held in Beijing, witnessed the Jinan University team competing against esteemed institutions such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Chongqing University, and Sichuan Foreign Studies University, showcasing their expertise in wine tasting. This achievement marks the second consecutive year of success for Jinan University in the LBBC Chinese competition, following their championship win last year.

The Left Bank Bordeaux Cup, International Wine Club Tasting Competition, is sponsored by Commanderie du Bontemps of Bordeaux, France. It is one of the largest global wine tasting competitions in the world. Participants from universities and schools all over the world compete using their knowledge of wine. Spearheaded by Professor Li Wenli from the School of Tourism at Jinan University's Shenzhen Campus, three talented students from the Shenzhen Campus - Huang Yanwen, Huang Ziyao, and Hou Yuyang represented Jinan University to participate in the 2024 China competition. The Shenzhen campus has been proudly representing Jinan University in the LBBC competition since 2019, culminating in their championship victory in the 2023 LBBC China division and subsequent qualification for the global finals in France that year. As the reigning champions of the 2023 China division, the team has been extended an invitation to participate in the 2024 LBBC Finals in Bordeaux, France, scheduled for June 2024.

The success of Jinan University's Shenzhen campus in the LBBC competition underscores the dedication, skill, and passion of its students and mentors in the realm of wine tasting. This accomplishment not only reflects the campus's commitment to excellence but also highlights the university's prowess on the global stage of academic and cultural competitions.
