On January 22nd, the esteemed journal Light: Science & Applications released online the research findings titled Operando monitoring the lithium spatial distribution of lithium metal nodes, which was a collaborative effort by researchers from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at JNU, Professor Ma Yaohua, Professor Huang Qiangqiang from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Professor Xiao Gaozhi from the Canadian Academy of Sciences. The paper was co-authored by Guo Tuan, a researcher at JNU, with Han Xile, a doctoral student at JNU, Associate Researcher Zhong Hai, Associate Researcher Li Kaiwei, and PhD student Xue Xiaobin serving as the co-first authors. This research collaboration involved teams from JNU, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the National Academy of Sciences of Canada.

Guo Tuan's research group has been dedicated to advancing innovation in mechanism and technological applications of advanced fiber optic sensors for battery safety detection and performance evaluation. The group has made significant contributions to this field, with publications in renowned journals such as Nature Communications, Light: Science & Applications, Advanced Optical Photonics, and Energy Environment, totaling over 150 SCI papers. Guo Tuan has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Optical Society and has received prestigious awards, including the IEEE Institute of Instrumentation and Measurement Science and Technology Award in 2018 and the Best Application Award in 2022. The research group has also secured funding from key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Excellent Youth Fund.
