On February 26th, the School of International Relations/Institute of Overseas Chinese Studies and the Zhaoqing Overseas Chinese Federation inspection team convened for a special exchange meeting centered on leveraging the cultural resources advantages of overseas Chinese hometowns to do a good job in the new era of overseas Chinese. The delegation, including Huang Yuhui, a member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Zhaoqing Overseas Chinese Federation, and Huang Chaoyi, Vice Chairman, visited JNU for this purpose.

During the symposium, Ju Hailong, Dean of the School of International Relations/Institute of Overseas Chinese Studies, extended a warm welcome to the Zhaoqing Overseas Chinese Joint Examination and Inspection Team. He introduced the school's significant achievements in serving local development, united front work, and overseas Chinese affairs. He expressed support for the cooperation and co-construction project of the China Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base on Yanzhou Island proposed by the visiting team, emphasizing the principles of win-win cooperation and standardization.
Huang Yuhui, on behalf of the inspection team, highlighted the fruitful achievements in collaboration with overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese hometown governance research over the past three years. He proposed joint research on overseas Chinese cultural resources, overseas Chinese hometown culture, governance, and industrial revitalization, aiming to promote the development of Yanzhou Island as the Chinese Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base.
Vice President Liu Yiqiang provided a detailed overview of the School of International Relations/Institute of Overseas Chinese Studies' rich experience and practical achievements in the research and development of overseas Chinese cultural resources, innovation, and policy experiments in overseas Chinese hometown governance, as well as special research on rural revitalization projects. He also outlined specific cooperation contents and mechanisms for the construction of the China Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base on Yanzhou Island.
Xie Yuehui, Honorary Chairman of the Zhaoqing Overseas Chinese Federation, shared insights into the historical process, vivid scenes, and future plans of the China Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base on Yanzhou Island from the perspective of enterprises involved in the construction and development of overseas Chinese culture. He also presented video materials on the application for the China Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base.
The attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on the proposed signing of the Framework Agreement for Strengthening Cooperation in the International Cultural Exchange Base of Chinese Overseas Chinese and deepening the exchange and cooperation between the Zhaoqing Federation of Overseas Chinese and JNU. The focus was on exploring the cultural resources of overseas Chinese on Yanzhou Island, extracting the connotation of advantageous brands, and promoting cooperation between the school and the local joint construction of teaching, research, and practical exchange bases. The aim is to strengthen deep cooperation between government, schools, and enterprises, harnessing the strength and intelligence of overseas Chinese to support the high-quality development of Zhaoqing's Million and Ten Thousand Project.
