In a significant development, the School of Basic Medicine and Public Health has recently been granted approval for multiple national major and key projects, totaling an impressive amount of 15.486 million yuan. Led by esteemed researchers, these projects promise to advance crucial areas of medical research and public health.
Professor Chen Guobing's team has received approval for the key project Digital Decoding and Application of T-cell Immunity in the National Natural Science Cross-disciplinary Research Program, with a substantial funding of 3 million yuan. This project focuses on leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and multi-dimensional big data to study T-cell immunity comprehensively, aiming to contribute to precise digital analysis and enhance healthcare in China.
Additionally, Professor Chen Guobing's team has secured funding for the collaborative project Research on the Mechanism of Cross-Immune Response of Virus Antigen-Specific TCR in Aging under the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. This initiative, conducted in partnership with Professor Leng Xiao from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, aims to unravel the complexities of viral diseases and aging, paving the way for optimized treatment strategies and vaccine development.
Furthermore, Professor Gao Feng's team has been awarded a grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China for their research on AIDS Vaccine Research to Induce Broad-Spectrum Neutralizing Antibodies. This project seeks to make significant strides in the field of AIDS vaccine development through innovative strategies and meticulous research methodologies.
Other notable projects include Professor Wang Huadong's research on immune decline in the elderly and Professor Ma Wenjun's investigation into elderly comorbidities, both funded under the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. These projects aim to address critical health challenges facing the aging population in China.
