JNU, in its commitment to enhancing its academic prowess and attracting talent from both domestic and international arenas, convened the 2023 Excellent Young Scholars Forum from December 28th to 29th, 2023.
The forum commenced at the International Conference Hall of Zeng Xianzi Science Museum at Shipai Campus on the morning of December 28th. Dignitaries including Lin Rupeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of JNU, Song Xianzhong, President, Wang Chuntao, Leader of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Director of the Personnel Department of the Provincial Department of Education graced the occasion. The meeting, presided over by Zhang Ronghua, Vice President of JNU, was attended by heads of secondary colleges and relevant functional departments. The conference, broadcasted globally, attracted over 6200 young talents from renowned universities and research institutes, both online and offline.

In his welcome speech, Lin Rupeng extended a warm reception to the leaders, guests, experts, and scholars, emphasizing JNU's unwavering commitment to its founding principles and its role as a century-old overseas Chinese university. He highlighted the institution's dedication to upholding the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Overall Plan for Deepening the Reform of Education Evaluation in the New Era, as well as its efforts in fostering a culture of respect for teachers and education.

Principal Song Xianzhong, in his address, lauded the school's implementation of the talent strong school strategy, which has led to significant advancements in the construction of Double First Class and high-level universities. He emphasized the forum's role in facilitating meaningful exchanges between scholars from both home and abroad, urging scholars to join JNU in its pursuit of mutual success.

During the meeting, Gu Shiqian, Director of the Human Resources Development and Management Office and Director of the Talent Work Office, presented the school's talent policy to attending scholars. Yang Jie, Director of the Social Science Research Office, provided insights into the National Social Science Fund project.
The sub forums, held from the afternoon of December 28th to 29th in various colleges, facilitated in-depth exchanges between attending young scholars and relevant colleges through academic reports, lectures, and discussions. Additionally, the scholars had the opportunity to visit the school history museum, Panyu campus, and traditional Chinese medicine specimen museum.
