The fourth JNU Social Scholarship and Grant Ceremony and the fifth JNU Public Welfare and Charity Forum were held in Zeng Xianzi Science Museum on Dec. 21. In attendance were Lin Rupeng, JNU party secretary and chairman of JNU's Education Development Foundation; Hu Jun, president of JNU's Alumni Association; Zhang Yi, chairman of JNU's Board of Directors and vice chairman of JNU's Education Development Foundation; and Liang Yan, director of JNU's United Front Work Office of the Party Committee and vice chairman and secretary-general of JNU's Education Development Foundation.

Lin described JNU’s achievements in recent years, saying it had given full play to its own advantages to add momentum to the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He expressed gratitude to entrepreneurs who have supported the school's public welfare undertakings and various socially funded education projects benefiting JNU students.

JNU’s Education Development Foundation has received more than 1.4 billion yuan in donations from all walks of life since its establishment. The foundation evaluated more than 60 social scholarships and grants, funding nearly 1,000 JNU students in 2023, with a total of nearly 5 million yuan, covering scholarships, grants and multi-category award projects, with a wide coverage and high scholarship amounts.

The 2023 JNU Education Award Ceremony was held at the forum, and board members presented Education Awards to representatives of the donors, thanking the enthusiastic school trustees, alumni and community members for their support.

At the fifth JNU Charity Forum after the awards ceremony, participants shared their viewpoints and held a roundtable discussion on From Funding to Empowerment: The Power of Public Welfare to Help Talent Development.

The awards ceremony of the Ma Youheng Work Award Fund was also held at the forum. Five JNU colleges and 23 alumni won Awards of Advanced Collective of Work on Alumni and Advanced Individual of Work on Alumni.
