Teams from Jinan University won two first prizes and one second prize, and the university won the Outstanding Organization Award in the on-site final of the fifth National Blended Teaching and Learning Innovation Contest from Nov. 10 to 12 at South China Normal University. JNU ranked first in Guangdong in number of first-prize winners and tied with 13 other undergraduate institutions for the first place nationwide.

First prizes in the undergraduate track went to the Chemical Biology team from the College of Chemistry and Materials Science, led by Chen Tianfeng and including Ma Li, He Lizhen, Xu Ligeng and Huang Wei, and the Multivariate Statistical Analysis team from the School of Management, led by Wang Binhui and including Hou Yawen, Wang Shu and Xie Xianfen. The New Media Product Design and Project Management team from the School of Journalism and Communication, led by Long Sisi and including Chen Xizi and Xiao Wei, won second prize.
This year's competition, guided by the Guangdong Department of Education and organized by South China Normal University, consisted of two tracks: undergraduate education and higher vocational education. Launched in May, it had three stages: the on-campus selection competition, the national semifinals and the finals. In the national semifinals, 966 courses were submitted from 351 undergraduate colleges and universities across China. Through online evaluation, the undergraduate track shortlisted 52 courses for the national on-site finals.
